grand cayman island fashionTomorrow my family is headed to the Grand Cayman Islands for the first time! This is also my husband’s first time on a “Granger family vacay,” so I’m really excited for him to experience how we travel. It hasn’t been since our honeymoon (a year and a half ago) that I’ve really needed a vacation. What with my full time job, me and my brother’s podcast, studying for my CFP® and this blog…mama needs a cold pina and sand in my toes for a few days. Ya feel me?

I’ve never done this before, but I’ve decided to share some of my fashion picks with you. It hasn’t been since the wedding and they honeymoon that I’ve gone on a shopping spree (work clothes don’t count), and I’m really into the pieces I found! Since spring & summer (read: festival season) are around the corner, I figured why not share the good stuff.

A little about my sense of style

I am first attracted to a piece by the color and design–I gravitate to cool colors, florals and stripes. Since I consider myself a curvy girl, the next thing I look for is fit. Empire waists, A-line dresses, cinching at the waist, V-necks and pieces that I can wear a bra with are my criteria. Not that I don’t stray from that from time to time, but it’s just that I know what looks best on me after many years of trial and error! Lastly, I look for comfort. I am extremely against anything that I don’t feel comfortable in. I swore off heels over 2 inches years ago (unless it’s a good chunky 2.5 incher) and if I can’t complete an over-indulgent meal without busting a zipper…it’s a no. Same goes with texture–it needs to feel good against my skin. I believe fashion can give you confidence, if selected carefully, and below are some pieces that give it to me. And yes, that even goes with my new-found love of one-pieces! #embracingmytummy

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see how I wear everything IRL, and I’ll add swipable links to my stories for ya. I’ve actually been planning on completely unplugging during this week-long vacation to recharge, but I’ll pop in from time to time to share glimpses of how we vacation. Hint: there will be a lot of food and laying still horizontally.

If you have any recommendations for us on what to do or where to eat, hit me up on Instagram @showmeyournola. I plan on doing a re-cap of our time there on another blog post, so stay tuned for that. In addition to sharing a little bit of fashion with you this year, I hope to share more travel guides with you too.

Cheers!

Danielle
