Last weekend I dug deep to pull out my best inner green thumb. Picking out all the succulents and hard-to-kill plants was fun, but picking out all the ceramic planters & outdoor decor was much more fun!

I’ve been collecting these planters since the beginning of summer, and I found the cutest and most affordable ones at west elm. I also found a few small empty vases, planters and even an old ceramic candle holder that I cleaned out around the house to put the small succulents in.

We have a decent sized backyard, but we are saving up money to add significant upgrades. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to make use of our sizable front porch. We have a semi-wrap around and the part the comes along the side of the house is quite private, so Andres made a vignette there will the new/refurnished furniture we had.

The Adirondack chairs have been in my family since I was little. They needed a little TLC so Andrés sanded them down and he painted them a stark white to give it a pop. I found the navy blue and white striped cushions at Marshall’s but I linked a similar one here. I’ll be sipping coconut margaritas on these bad boys all summer long!

For my birthday, Andres got me this adorable bench from Target. It was only around $100, so it was a great find! It does need a cushion, so I’ll be buying the one featured here from Target soon. I think it will complement the bolder stripes of the Adirondack cushions.

As for the little table, I found mine at Home Goods in Lafayette, LA for $30, but I found one at Target that matches the bench exactly (notice how mine is a different shade than the bench) and I included it in this link. If you happen to notice my ashtray, it’s great find for $8 at an adorable antique shop in Scott, LA called Maison Bleu. Next door is a big warehouse of antique furniture called, Revival Antiques. It makes for a great Louisiana day excursion!

Another birthday gift request was several Pineapple accessories, including 2 different styles of door mats and a pillow for the bench. One can never have enough pineapples around the home…it’s a sign of welcomeness, after all. Also, these accessories are all under $15!

Lastly, the pom pom basket was a great find at Hobby Lobby. I’m not sure what it’s purpose is, but for right now let’s just call it a trash can. I used the 40% off coupon from the Hobby Lobby website to buy this for $22. I linked a very similar one here too!

I am no expert when it comes to home or outdoor decor, which is why I’m starting with small vignettes. Today, I’m finally tackling my dining room gallery wall, which has been months in the making, so stay tuned for a report on that home project!

I’d love to hear and see your summer projects! Tag me on Instagram and use the hashtag #smysummerproject.

Happy Summering!
